Case study
The DATEFORM Seats at the UAE Outdoor Pavilion, Expo Osaka 2025, emerge as sculptural embodiments of sustainability and design harmony, crafted through the visionary landscape concept of SLA and the meticulous material innovation of ARDH Collective.
Formed from custom-engineered DATEFORM sheets, each composed at double thickness to ensure both structural integrity and tactile warmth, the seats were CNC-routed with precision to achieve their seamless organic contours. Their form echoes the flowing landscapes envisioned by SLA for spaces that invite reflection, dialogue, and repose amidst the global gathering of Expo 2025.
Rooted in the UAE’s ethos of craft, sustainability, and innovation, the DATEFORM Seats stand as both functional and poetic gestures, transforming repurposed date seeds into enduring symbols of material intelligence and cross-cultural collaboration.
